Lucy's birthday started on Wednesday, her actual birthday with cake (made by Daddy) and presents with Seth and Caroline and their family.

THEN, for the birthday party extravaganza, with the help of our good friend and realtor we pulled of a horse riding, chicken catching, great time. We started out in the chicken coupe where the kids got to catch and pet the chickens.

Dallin took the prize for best chicken catcher, probably because he has his own chickens at his house. Either way, we were all watching him to figure out how to grab these little guys.

And then, on to horse riding! Wes had three horses, and since we only had six kids there, the kids got to ride all three horses, and took turns for about an hour. Sometimes the kids would ride solo, sometimes with their mom or dad, and sometimes they would share with another kid. They also took turns leading the horses around the yard.

Then we all gathered back at our house for muffins, fruit, yogurt, and juice (it was only 10 am when we finished). Lucy opened her presents and we watched a little Bolt. I think the kids all had a great time, and we are so grateful to Wes for sharing his horses with us!

It looks like you had a great time. What kid wouldn't want to chase chickens and ride horses on there birthday. I would even love that for a birthday party, sounds like tons of fun.
That sounds like a ton of fun! I wish I had a connection like that!
What an exciting and memorable party for the kids! Great idea. Happy Birthday Lucy! What a little sweetie.
Happy Belated Birthday Lucy! I can't believe next year she will off to school. Looks like a fun party. Too bad we don't live closer, Truman would have loved the party. He really likes horses, we have some that he can see from our living room window.
